A More Light Congregation

Bethany Presbyterian Church

Easter 2022

Palm Sunday - March 24, 10:00 a.m.

We begin the holy journey to the cross, and beyond, by commemorating Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem.

Good Friday - March 29

Bethany will be open from 12:00-3:00 for anyone who would like to stop by to reflect or just be in the Sanctuary. There will be a few stations with activities that can be used to focus thoughts or encourage prayer.

Easter Sunday, March 31

“After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. For fear of him the guards shook and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee"

Sunrise, 6:30 a.m.

Easter services at Bethany will begin at dawn with a Sunrise Service at 6:45 am. We will assemble in the meditation garden area to worship and watch the sun come up. There will be coffee, and do dress warmly (or bring a blanket!). We will then move indoors for more coffee, juice, and Easter pastries. It's always a beautiful start to our Easter Sunday!

Easter Sunday, 10:00 a.m.

Easter will also be celebrated at our regular worship time of 10:00 am. There will be beautiful music, a message of hope and promise by Pastor Deb, the Biblical story of the resurrection, wonderful hymns, and a time for prayer. As ever, worship will be available on Facebook Live, as well.

An Easter reception will again be held after this service, and you are encouraged to invite your family, neighbors, and friends to join in this jubilant time in the Christian year. Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!!
