Opening Prayer
Gracious God, you sent your son to bring us peace. Jesus said to us, “My peace I give to you. I do not give as the world gives.” On this Memorial Day let us remember that our peace includes our own inner peace, peace within relationships, and the peace of nations of the world. Lord, today we stop and remember the sacrifice made by those who paid the ultimate price on behalf of our nation. We pray that their sacrifices are never forgotten, nor the pain of their families. It is the peace of Christ that we remember as we worship this day. Loving God, be in our hearts as we come together now. Amen.

Prayer of Confession 2
O God, You who are always doing a new thing, we confess that we sometimes close windows against the fresh air of new ideas, against the noise of other people's worries, against the winds of change. God of every place and time, we confess that we often draw the curtains against people who are different, against world news or community concerns. Forgive us our insulation in our locked homes, our shuttered churches, the security systems on our hearts. Open up our lives, and let your Spirit blow through. Amen.
Response Hymn 253

Invitation to the Offering 4
God has shown us the meaning of generosity in the beautiful diversity of creation, in the overflowing love of Jesus Christ, and in the never-ending gift of the Holy Spirit! God has abundantly blessed us and called us to be a community that blesses others through the sharing of our love, our talents, and our material possessions. Let us rejoice now in what we have been given and in what is ours to give.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Hymn 761 Called as Partners in Christ's Service
