Transitioning into Inclusion Training

You're Invited!

Saturday, May 16th, from 7-9 p.m.

Bethany is proud to host  "Transitioning to Inclusion"- a 90-minute long, interactive training for churches - clergy, lay leaders, Sunday School teachers and educators - about how to make our programs truly welcoming to LGBTQ youth.

The training will be led by Kelsey Pacha, who also developed the material:  “The first half is an LGBTQ Terms 101, offering opportunities for discussion about gender and sexuality. The second half provides information about LGBTQ youth experiences in faith communities and invites participants to consider the resources they already have in text, community values, ritual, and curriculum to support these youth. Printed guides of this resource from Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry (CLGS) will be provided for your community's use.”

Kelsey Pacha is the Youth Resource Coordinator at the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry in Berkeley, CA. He has worked with LGBT people for 10 years in non-profit settings as a case manager and direct service worker, and is currently a student at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, pursuing a Master of Divinity, MA in Religion and Psychology, and Certificate in Sexuality and Religion. He is also the lead consultant for Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center (LYRIC)'s Allies in Faith interfaith network for LGBT youth in San Francisco, CA.

Refreshments will be served!
