A More Light Congregation

Bethany Presbyterian Church

Our First “Faith in Action” Sunday was June 4, 2017

See photos of the event here!

Please plan to join us on Pentecost Sunday, June 4th, when we explore a new kind of worship and put our faith into action. After arriving, we will sing and pray together, and then break into smaller groups for several different events planned for the morning.

We have several activities for the congregation to participate in, depending on what you would like to do:

We anticipate the schedule on Sunday, June 4, will run from 10:00am to around 11:30am/noon, which may be slightly longer than a normal Sunday. There will be a coffee hour available during our project work. Please plan to join us as we put our Faith into Action.

This is the first Sunday where we embrace a different kind of worship, so come and see how we can work together to uphold our closing charge:

Go out into the world in peace; have courage;

hold on to what is good;

return no person evil for evil;

strengthen the fainthearted, support the weak,

help the suffering, honor all people,

love and serve the Lord,

rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We plan for this to be the first of many Sundays in the future as we put our Faith into Action!

• Peter Stiehler and George Lynch will lead a group to work on the Tiny House in our parking lot doing exterior painting and other finishing touches. We are fortunate that the Tiny House is on our property so it will be a short walk to the upper parking lot to help on this project.

• Roxane Wales will lead a group in the kitchen who will cook a large pot of soup to be stored in multiple containers in the Shelter freezer. The soup will be used for various dinners for 12-15 people who normally are in residence at the Shelter.

• Tamra Hollenbeck will lead a group in the Sanctuary who will pack 100 health/toiletry kits. All the needed supplies for the kits will be available at the church so there is no need to bring along any supplies.
