A Commitment To Service In Local Mission Projects

Bethany Presbyterian Church seeks to make love a verb and not a noun. We hear the epistle writer James when he writes:

It’s not that we have arrived at our destination, but we are eager to be on the path that leads to faith in action.

• Our members serve meals at the Hospitality House at St. Bruno Catholic Church and the congregation collects needed items for the house and its occupants year round.
• We welcome various community programs to use our facilities, and Bethany is a voting place.
• Bethany hosts a quarterly Open Mic Night on the third Saturday in January, April, July and October. The community of Bay Area musicians, story-tellers, poets and others are welcome to share their artistic skills in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
• We support Westminister Woods, a Presbyterian conference grounds in Sonoma County. Our church members are leaders of summer camps, attendees of events there, and provide financial support throughout the year.
• We financially support the San Franciso Network Ministries, led by the Rev. Glenda Hope, along with our prayer support and our participation at Christmas time in an annual caroling time through the Tenderloin.
