Fellowship At Bethany Presbyterian Church

Joining other members of Bethany at one of our many fellowship opportunities is a great way to get to know others in the congregation, have some fun and contribute to your spiritual growth.

Ongoing Fellowship Events Throughout The Year

• Quarterly Open Mic Night: on the third Saturday in January, April, July and October. The community of Bay Area musicians, story-tellers, poets and others are welcome to share their artistic skills in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
• Movie Nights: We occasionally host movie nights, sometimes just for fun and sometimes as part of a study or ongoing discussion around important issues for the congregation.

Annual Fellowship Events

• Bethany Church Picnic: A Sunday afternoon gathering in early fall of Bethany families and friends for a relaxing day of food, fellowship, fun and games.
• Youth Club Beach Party: The youth invite everyone tojoin them for a bonfire and BBQ to kick off their year of study and fellowship.
• Annual Thanksgiving Dinner and Talent Revue: This is one of our biggest events of the year! The church provides the turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and pie, and the congregation potlucks the side dishes. After dinner, we enjoy a wonderful talent revue with music, storytelling, skits and always a few surprises!
• Advent Festival: A fun, family day of crafts, cookie decorating and decorating the sanctuary for Advent and Christmas.
• Caroling in the Tenderloin: Members of our congregation join with Network Ministries in San Francisco to go Christmas Caroling in the Tenderloin district.
• Women's Weekend: The women of the church join with women from many other churches at the annual women's retreat weekend at Westminster Woods.
• Irish Ceili: In celebration of St. Patrick's Day in March, we host a Ceili, a traditional Irish gathering of music and dance. Anne and the Bethany Brawlers play traditional Irish music and everyone is encouraged to dance and join the fun.
• Concert/Recital: We periodically present a concert or recital, sometimes seasonal or perhaps a piano recital. We often invite other churches and community members to join us.
• Spring Tea: This is an opportunity for the women of the church to gather together in fellowship.
